Cycle through winter: For commuting or just having fun, riding a bike ...
Studded tires for bikes? Sure. You can also get chains if you want to join the intrepid cyclists who commute to work on two-wheelers during the winter, or who just want to have fun in the snow. "I've been riding a bicycle for my main transportation for over 30 years. It's a force of habit," says John Schwenker, a 51-year-old aerospace engineer from Boulder, Colo., a place where winter conditions aren't too different than they are here. He rides four miles to his office, and four miles back, even in the snow. "It's a matter of going slow in the stuff," he says. Bikes aren't just for sunny summer weather. There are those across the country — whether for environmental reasons, fun or fitness — who so love cycling that they ride year-round, pretty much regardless of the weather.
Reinaldo helps Roar demolish Phoenix
A Brazilian triple-treat from Reinaldo and Marcinho gave the Queensland Roar a commanding 3-0 win over a 10-man Wellington Phoenix and outright second spot on the A-League ladder. A dominant performance from striker Reinaldo was capped off with two goals, including a classy backheel effort, while Marcinho came off the bench to chime in with a third late in the match. The three second-half goals came despite a spirited effort from the Phoenix, who lost Socceroo midfielder Ahmad Elrich when he was red-carded for what appeared to be an elbow to the face of the Roar's Hyuk-Su Seo in a 34th minute off-the-ball incident. The visitors remained staunch in defence for the next half hour of match time, with the scores locked at 0-0 up until the 67th minute. Roar coach Frank Farina though was happy with the way his charges persisted with their game plan.

SFGate: Daily Dish
Angelina Jolie is being fast-tracked through the Vietnamese adoption system so she can adopt a young boy there in May, according to a local official. Vu Duc Long, director of the country's Ministry of Justice's International Adoption Department, has confirmed Jolie's application has been accelerated because she chose the child during a previous visit to Ho Chi Minh City. He says, "She might receive her adoptive child in three months, one month earlier than the normal time frame for an adoption. "He is between 4 and 5 and now stays at the Tam Binh orphanage." The actress filed papers through a U.S. adoption agency to take custody of the child three months ago. Jolie, her partner Brad Pitt and their family visited Vietnam in November in between the filming of "A Mighty Heart" in Pakistan.
2006 Mazda5 Touring Review
It could be confusing. There a Mazda MX-5, and there is a Mazda5. But place the two side by side, and confusion evaporates. The MX-5, also known as the Miata, is the best-selling two-seat roadster in history. The Mazda5 is a... ??? Taxonomy fails at times like this. From a distance, a Mazda5 looks like a minivan. Its one-and-a-half box shape, with sliding doors on each side and a liftgate at the rear, says minivan. But doesn't Mazda already have a minivan in its MPV? Indeed it does, and a closer look at the Mazda5 shows it to be noticeably smaller than the MPV, which is already one of the few current minivans that doesn't aspire to be a full-size van. With sport-compact styling clues like clear plastic covers over colored taillights, and, optionally on the Sport model or standard on the premium Touring model, lower cladding and a hot hatch-style rear visor wing, the Mazda5 is obviously not being aimed at your basic soccer mom.
